ISSP is looking for senior microfluidics scientist

The Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) is looking for senior microfluidics scientist for a position with the Micro and nanodevices laboratory. Laboratory focuses on research of:

  • Organ on chips. Our expertise is to develop PDMS-free devices using cleanroom and soon to be established microfluidics pilot line with injection molder
  • Cancer diagnostic tool development for biomarker detection such as extracellular vesicles and proteins

Therefore, we are looking for candidates with a strong track-record in organ on chip and/or biomarker diagnostics with background in microfabrication and device design. Group consists of 1 post-docs and several graduate and an undergraduate students.

Most of the work is done in Nanotechnology center: 600 m2 ISO 9001 accredited cleanroom facilities allowing microfluidic device fabrication, characterisation and functional testing. Most of our projects are realised in close collaboration with our partners – Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre, which ensures the biological experiments with the fabricated devices, KTH and other pan-European partners.
